自動車保険契約の再開 その2　(道路税はオンラインで更新)

保険会社からは　車体の写真とスピードメーターの写真を見た後でないと保険の更新はできないと言ってきたので、華人友人に写真を撮ってもらって保険会社に送った。　でもバッテリーを接続していないので　スピードメーターは非表示の写真を送るしかなかった。

保険会社は　「スピードメーターが作動表示されている車両じゃないので　作動表示された写真を送ってくるまでは　保険契約に応じられない」　と言ってくる可能性があるかなぁ、と思った。

でもメールでやり取りしていたら、担当者から　次のメッセージが入った。

Dear Gary

Please confirm the effective date for your vehicle insurance. When you would like us to issue the insurance and renew road tax as the previous insurance has expired.

Suggest that you confirm the date of renewing your road tax to avoid insufficient insurance period of cover for the road tax renewal.

どうやら　道路税の更新納付(有効期間)と保険の契約期間がずれると不味いので、いつ道路税の更新納付する予定か、と聞いてきた。　それに合わせて保険の更新スタート日を決める方がいい　という意味のことが書いてある。

MyEGを操作してみたら、どうやらMM2Hのような外国人でも　オンライン更新できそうだと気づいた。

念のためウェブで検索してみたら　大使館のホームページにも　可能と書いてある。

そこで保険会社に次のメールを送った。

Dear Jennifer

As to 2) in the bellow mail, I may not need ur arrangement for the road tax renewal service by ur agent.

I learned that MM2H (Non Malaysian) car owner can renew the road tax directly via MyEG by himself ( differently from driver’s license renewal for which MM2H cannot use MyEG ).

I checked the MyEG road tax renewal under my car number “ WZ1234L” and found a message that says “ can not proceed road tax renewal since no valid car insurance, so purchase car insurance firstly” .

Therefore, I want the insurance coverage to be effective from June 30th, 2022 so that I renew the road tax with the same effective date via MyEG in advance.

I am ready to remit XXXRM for the car insurance premium, please let me know whether you can issue car insurance at my request.

Thank you.

これに対し、担当者からは　次の返信がきた。

Dear Gary

Enclosed is the revise quotation with effective date from 30-06-2022. Please take note that the insurance cover will start from the mentioned effective date of 30-06-2022.

If you would like us to proceed with the insurance issuance, please proceed to remit the premium payment to our company bank account as per below and to provide a copy of the bank slip for payment verification purposes.

Meantime, appreciate if you could provide us the photo of the speedometer with ODO reading once the vehicle able to start-up upon your arrival back in Malaysia.

早速　保険料を振り込んでおいた。

あとは　MyEGで　上手く道路税の更新手続きができるかだ。

更新スティッカーの自宅郵送の記載欄もあるし、道路税の支払いは　インターネットバンキングで振り込み操作(あるいはクレジットカード)が必要なので、MyEGでの更新手続きは　6月30日にマレーシア 到着後にやって見ることにしよう。

もし、うまく操作出来なかった場合、JPJのオフィスに行くしかない。

なお、こんな記事を見つけたが　2020.3.30お知らせ　となっているので、現時点では　もはや　適用されないんだろうな。
