The pandemic has accelerated the shifting of many face-to-face practices to online portals and systems. On the 9th of October 2020, JPJ announced that driver’s licenses can be renewed online via MyEG’s website! To renew your license using MyEG’s website, just follow these steps:

Visit the official MyEG website. If you do not have an account with MyEG, create an account by clicking on the “Register Now” button and filling in the required details.
If you already have a MyEG account, click the “Login” button, then select your nearest JPJ branch.
Click on the “Renewing Driving License” button.
Then, fill in all the required information and select your payment method. Before confirming your payment, make sure all the information provided is correct.
Once completed, save the receipt as proof if necessary.
MyEG will send you your new driving license to the address you have provided.
Do note that a fee of RM5.00 will be charged for delivery around the Klang Valley, RM6.00 for peninsular Malaysia and RM10.00 for Sabah and Sarawak. That’s a quick and simple guide on how to renew your CDL! Make sure you don’t sit and wait till it expire before renewing yours!

MyEG website で、つまりオンラインの手続きで、運転免許の更新ができ、新しい免許証を郵送してくれる　というのだ。

そろそろ運転免許の期限が切れる。

失効させたくないならマレーシアに戻ってJPJに出向いて窓口で更新手続きをしないといけないのだが　マレーシア入国時の検疫隔離はどうしても嫌だ。

もし日本にいてオンラインで更新できるのなら　新しい免許証をイポーの友人宅気付にて郵送してもらえば　マレーシアに戻る必要がない。

早速　トライしてみた。

まずは

と書いてあるので、アカウントの登録設定が必要だ。

パスポート番号を入れるところまでは問題なく進むのだが、居住ステータスの入力項目で困った。

マレーシア国籍、マレーシア永住権、一時的居住(Temporary resident)　などの区分はあるが　MM2Hと明記してある項目がない。

MM2Hは　永住権ではない　ので、一時的居住　なのだろう　と思い　そこにチェックマークした。

ところが　操作を進めていくと　こんなメッセージが出る。

REKOD PEMILIK TIDAK WUJUD(CMNOW)

マレーシア運転免許証に記載されているパスポート番号を確認したら、TXXXXX123465 の後に　JPNが追記されている。

そこで　プロファイル登録を　TXXXXX123465JPN に修正登録して　再度　操作をやり直してみた。

でもやはり　REKOD PEMILIK TIDAK WUJUD(CMNOW) のメッセージが出てしまう。

どうやら　MM2Hの運転免許証は　WEBでは更新できない　ようだ。

おまけに　こんな意味のメッセージも表示された。

『プロファイル登録で　パスポート番号の変更は一回のみ有効』

それ以上変更しようとしてもできないのだ。
