図書館で借りて来た「インド人との付き合い方」という本を読み始めた。

序文にこんなことが書いてある。

インド人の共通事項

1) 困っている外国人がいると助ける
2) 弱みを見せない
3) 信仰心を持っている
4) 自分の家庭料理が一番旨いと思っている
5) 他人ができることは自分ならもっとスマートにできると自負している
6) 自国の文化に誇りを持っている
7) 商売のためなら嘘もつく
8)自分を大物に見せようと努力する
9) 政府や他のインド人の悪口を平気で口にするが、外国人がインドの悪口を言うと必ず反論してくる

I am now reading an interesting book about India written by a Japanese who has lived in India over 20 years.

Book’s subtitle : “Indian common sense and business mysteries”

The bellow is extraction from preface. (As The book is written in Japanese, I used google translation into English.)

General Common things for Indians ( which the author recognizes personally)

1) Try to help if there is a foreigner who is in trouble
2) Show no weaknesses
3) Have strong religious mind
4) Believe that my home cooking is the best
5) I'm proud that I can be smarter in what others can do
6) Take pride in Indian culture
7) Tell even a lie for business purposes
8) Try to make himself look big
9) He is willing to say bad things about the government and other Indians, but he always argues when foreigners say bad things about India.
