“This has nothing to do with alleged concerns over the vaccine’s efficacy. I have seen much speculation on why we had to stop using Sinovac but it is only because we have received our entire delivery,” said Khairy at the weekly Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) joint press conference with Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba.

Khairy said initially, the delivery of Sinovac vaccines was to last until November, but the government had requested for it to be brought forward to speed up the country’s vaccination programme.

“After negotiating with Pharmaniaga, we sped up the delivery for Sinovac vaccines. Now, our vaccination rate has increased and our immunisation programme is one of the fastest in the world,” said Khairy.

さすが政治家だけに　上手く説明するものだ。

まずは　『中国製ワクチンの有効性に懸念があるから使用中止にするということじゃない』　と不安要素を否定している。

その上で、『ワクチン接種スピードを上げるべく　11月までの供給契約分を前倒しで供給してもらうことで7月までに契約量達成するからだ』、　と　供給契約満了が理由だと説明している。

つまり、ワクチン接種プログラムの加速化進行　の成果が出て、マレーシアは世界の中でも最も早いスピード国の一つになったのだ、として　安心感を与えようとする方向に持っていく。

不安要素をいつのまにか安心要素に置き換えてしまう　という説明だ。

Malaysia may purchase more doses of the Sinovac Covid-19 vaccine to cover up shortfalls caused by a possible disruption to its supply of AstraZeneca vaccines from Thailand.

National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme coordinating minister Khairy Jamaluddin (pic) said this was one of the country’s “Plan B” if Thailand decides to reduce the export of AstraZeneca vaccines manufactured in the country.

“We are closely watching the developments on AstraZeneca in Thailand. We will discuss bilaterally with Thailand, who are good neighbours of ours, to ensure that our supply of AstraZeneca vaccines from Thailand is not disrupted.

Recently, it was reported that Thailand is considering limiting its exports of AstraZeneca vaccines that are manufactured in the country.

マレーシアとしては中国製ワクチンからアストラザネカとかファイザーに切り替える方向だが、アストラザネカ製造国であるタイとの間での供給交渉が上手く進まない場合には、引き続きSinovavの購入を続ける　ともコメントしている。

要するに　中国製ワクチンも充分に有効なワクチンだが、更にもっと有効なワクチン(アストラザネカなど)があるので　それに切り替える、　でも切り替えが、隣国タイとの供給契約交渉で上手くいかない　となったら　、普通に有効な中国製ワクチンに戻って　接種プログラムを進める　、　ということで　既に　中国製ワクチンを接種済みの国民の皆さま、不安にならないでください、　ということのようだ。
