マレーシアで臓器の違法売買があることを　英新聞が　覆面取材した記事だ。

The report said the man initially charged a fee of £55,000 (S$98,550) for supplying the kidney and an additional £65,000 for payment to the clinic but eventually dropped the total fee to £85,000.

腎臓の買い手(買い希望)を装った記者に、マレーシアの臓器売買の斡旋者が要求してきた金額は　当初55000+65000=130000英ポンドだったが、交渉の結果　85000英ポンドになった。

この金額には　フィリピン(マニラ)のクリニックに支払うワイロ代も含まれる。

The man claimed his fees include bribes for a clinic in Manila in the Philippines to perform the operation.

この斡旋者は、　既に　45例の腎臓斡旋　の実績があり、また潜在顧客(腎臓の売り希望者))が100人以上いる　とも言っている。

貧困が原因だ。

According to the report, the man said that the rules banning transplant operations between donors and recipients who are not friends or related by blood are sorted out with bribes and forged papers.

"In Manila, cash is king. Money talks," he was quoted as saying.

友人や親族以外からの臓器移植は法律で禁止になっているが、マニラでは、金がものをいう国なので、ワイロを払えば書類偽造が可能になる　と言う。

マレーシアでも臓器売買は違法だし、フィリピンでは最高懲役20 年だ。

Organ trading is illegal in Malaysia, while under Philippine law, human trafficking for organs could land the man 20 years in prison.

なお、マレーシア警察としては　この人物の特定をすべく捜査するとコメントしている。

If found guilty and convicted, the 48-year-old faces a maximum jail term of fifteen years, RM500,000 to RM1 million fine, and will have to forfeit the profits he made from the offence.

既に　45例の腎臓斡旋　の実績があるが、　Facebook で貧困に喘ぐ人をターゲットに臓器提供を勧誘し、移植希望者とのマッチングビジネスをしていた。

He was also reported to have masterminded 45 illicit kidney sales and had used Facebook to lure poverty-stricken victims from around the world to sell their organs to desperate patients.
